Leading From Behind

Leadership comes in many forms. It’s not always what it appears.

Sometimes the most visible alpha figure is just a place-holder, while those who mentor, motivate, and affect real change are less obvious – ordinary people quietly producing extraordinary results.

The best leaders don’t lack ego – in fact, they’re incredibly ambitious. But their ambition is for the greater good. Success is never a zero-sum game.

Just back from a couple of awesome Artist Brain Collective workshops at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Gilbert, Arizona. Such a reward to see how this resonates with students and faculty alike.

Congrats to workshop attendees Bibi Rodriguez and Michael Barker, who each won an SSL2 interface, thanks to workshop sponsors Solid State Logic. And big thanks to Hannah Fraley. Rick Allen, Rachel Ludeman, and all the folks at CRAS.

Watch for upcoming workshops at UNLV and several in Southern California, as well as some panel discussions with industry pros at some upcoming Audio Engineering Society events.
