Community as Competitive Advantage – Newsletter Vol 20

I spend time in a lot of different groups of people, and I’ve noticed certain patterns.

In some groups, you’re the outlier. In others, you’re right in the middle.

Different groups change how we see ourselves. They also change what we expect from ourselves.

We tend to think of community as support. And it is.

But it’s also something more.

It sets the bar. It raises your standards.

What feels overly ambitious and intimidating in one room can feel totally natural in another. Imposter syndrome becomes confidence, what feels out of reach becomes attainable in the right company.

Community changes everything. It provides support, but more importantly, it can provide perspective. And often that’s more valuable.

Does your community give you what you need?
