Updates…

Just returned from a wonderful week in Tunbridge Wells in the UK, meeting with the team from The Inside Story. Big thanks to Barney Jameson, James Ling, Mike Rodel, and the whole TIS crew. There’s more to the story, which I’m excited to tell you about very soon.

Meanwhile, back in Vegas…we’re putting the final touches on reviving the Audio Engineering Society’s Las Vegas section. Watch for an announcement on the section’s new Executive Committee (full disclosure: I’m part of it), as well as the grand opening of the new state-of-the-art studio at UNLV.

And in Los Angeles…..we had a great AES-LA workshop on ATMOS mixing with producers Matt Wallace and Will Kennedy last month at Matt’s Studio Delux. Unfortunately we had some problems with the livestream, but it’s available online (with apologies for the poor video quality).

We’ll be doing another AES event this month at Cherokee Studios. “Trident – The Legend of a True Original” will feature author/historian Brian Kehew, Cherokee’s Bruce Robb, Trident alumnus Adam Moseley, and Studio Trenches tech Joe Vezzetti. In-person attendance is sold out, but we’ll be live streaming the panel too. for more information RSVP via the EventBrite link.

Artist Brain Collective News

Colleges are preparing to return from summer break, and we’ll be announcing dates for Artist Brain Collective workshops at UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, USC, Pierce College, and UNLV, as well as more workshops at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences.

The enthusiasm I’m hearing from educators and students alike who want to hold these workshops in their schools is getting louder all the time. It’s gonna be a busy semester.
